Break Thru awarded Premier’s Award for Public Service

Award2

We’re proud to announce Break Thru has been awarded the Premier’s Award for Making NSW a Better Place to Live at the recent NSW Premier’s Awards for Public Service.

The award recognised making outstanding contributions to the environment and development of infrastructure in NSW.

We were nominated as a team with partnering organisations under the Sydney Metro Northwest Pre-employment Program – an initiative to support long term unemployed people to find jobs on major transport infrastructure projects.

Break Thru was the leading employment service on the North West Rail Link training initiative. This aimed to provide tailored training and personal development for disadvantaged people and remove stigma surrounding job seekers.

The initiative has been hugely successful with over 70% of candidates who completed the program now in employment.

Break Thru’s efforts in the initiative have been widely recognised after also being awarded the Enterprise Training Provider of the Year at the 2015 TAFE Western Sydney Student Excellence Awards.
