First results from Break Thru’s Working with Barriers Project

Working with Barriers is a collaborative 2-year research project between Break Thru People Solutions and the University of Sydney. It examines the experiences of jobseekers with mental illness, including additional drug and alcohol issues, and the most effective strategies to assist these clients.

Findings from the first part of the project, interviews with jobseekers, consultants and jobseeker support persons (family or friends) are now available.

The Working with Barriers project is funded by NSW Health via the Mental Health Coordinating Council’s (MHCC) and Network of Alcohol and Other Drug Agencies’ (NADA) Non Government Organisation Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Research Grants Program 2007.
